When building !MapFish, !OpenLayers and !GeoExt all together, if the source files are not all in UTF-8, the built file outputted can have hazard characters.  These can behave incorrectly when using !Internet!Explorer 6 and a <meta> tag defining the character-encoding to UTF-8.

Currently, only the es.js file is in ISO-8859-1.

Changing es.js to UTF-8 fixes the problem.  Future files should be in UTF-8 as well.

There are some file in the !OpenLayers.Lang lib that are also not in UTF-8.  These should be reported as well.
